Christmas Giveaway

My grandmother lent me this book when I was about ten. I have always loved to read, and this non-fiction tale of a brave and sweet young girl has been my favorite ever since. It is written by Frank Deford, and it is about the short but life-changing time he had with his daughter, Alex. Alex was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis as an infant in the early seventies, and she wasn't even supposed to live past a year, but she made it eight. She was a funny and loving girl who made lasting impressions on everyone she knew. I love reading about her, and seeing her through her Daddy's eyes. This book is one that makes me cry, but it also makes me laugh. I never gave my grandma back her book (terrible, I know) and I asked for a less love-worn copy last Christmas. If you like to read stories that warm your heart, I recommend this one. Just keep the tissues nearby!

I would like to offer a copy of this book in the Christmas giveaway- Just leave me a comment about what your favorite book is and why! I will select a winner by December 12! Merry Christmas and happy reading!

Go to Lysa's site to see lots of great giveaways!

Your new Christmas blog looks so cute!

I love books, and would love this giveaway....it is so hard to pick just one favorite book- I read A LOT!

I'll pick Wesley the Owl (GREAT story about a biologist who raised a baby owl for 20 years.)

We are all book lovers in our family. My favorite is the Bible because it changed me. I am currently reading Facing Your Giants by Max Lucado, Age of Opportunity by Paul David Tripp, and Freedom From Tyranny of the Urgent by Charles E. Hummel.

Thank you kindly for the giveaway, please include my name in your drawing. And I'd love to have you stop by and visit my giveaway.

Merry Christmas,
Lora

I love to read inspiring non-fiction and fiction alike, if it is well written.

I am giving away a copy of my favorite book, "The Shack," on my blog. The book is a very inspirational read.

My favourite book? Oh, that's so hard. I do remember a book I LOVED from years ago, by Taylor Caldwell entitled, "Tender Victory". That story has stayed with me through decades - literally!

Always enjoy a good read,
Joy

Angela.....how much this contest of blogs has inspired me tonight.
Then I get to yours....and it just blows me away.
Today, my dear friend lost her young 22 year old son to cancer. The sad part was he had a cancer that was beatable...but couldn't find a bone marrow donor in time. I have been so burdened all evening then I hopped on to blog a bit and found all of you.
Just precious and I thank God for all the encouragement I have ran across. These women may not know it...but I am being totally ministered too by all of you.
Thank you@

I love to read and so does my 10 YEAR OLD GRANDAUGHTER. :) So if I win, I will loan this to her and see how long it takes to get it back. Who knows, maybe someday she will have a giveaway for a copy of the book on HER blog... designed by her Grandma of course. Ha!

What was the question again? Oh, my favorite book. Well you just have to look at my favorite book list on my blog to find that out. Oh, I have to pick just ONE?

Well then, I guess it would be "A Chance to Die" a biography of Amy Carmichael, written by Elisabeth Elliot. The title scared me so it took me a year to open it to read it. :)

Thanks Angela!
