Because it's outside.

Today was amazing. My friend Nicole came down to visit last night and this morning we got up early and drove about an hour and a half west out past Waynesboro, VA. The drive was absolutely gorgeous. Fall is my favorite season. I love all the holidays, the colors, the brisk air and the coziness of coming inside.

We hiked about two miles up to the peaks of the Humpback Rocks. I realized that I need to get a personal trainer because I almost died. Breathe really heavily, in and out like five times. Now start complaining and you get the whole experience. It was a pretty steep incline in parts. When we got to the top it was sheer rock jutting out against a bright blue sky. The temperature was in the upper sixties at that elevation, and we sat at the top of the cliffs and looked out over a breathtaking panorama of oranges, reds, yellows and greens. I have been a couple times before; once as a kid and once maybe five or six years ago, and I hope to go back far more frequently. Nature is in the house. Not.

WOW! The glory of the Lord everywhere! When my boys and I see a brilliant red tree or a perfect sunset or whatever we clap for God and praise Him for the glory of His splendor and His creativity! Thank you for sharing these pics!

What beautiful pictures Angela! Oh how I miss the mountains. Not that I would be very good at mountain climbing these days. But I'll join with the earth and sing my praise to Him!

Beautiful pictures. I live in West Virginia so i know how beautiful God's natural surroundings can be. My kids have been having a blast playing in all the leaves.

Not that I would know from the pictures, but, that reminds me of Old Rag Mountain. A town called Sperryville would be at the base of the mountain. I did not know there was a place called "Humpback Rocks".

Those pictures are breathtaking! We live in North Georgia, but we haven't gone up north enough this year to see anything like this.

Makes me want to take a trip...

Hey Angela,
Here is an invitation for you and those who read your blog.
I have a new blogger friend by the name of Jody. Her blog is Jody Lynne.
She would like to be involved in a network of bloggers. Invite her to exchange hosting a link on one another's (yours and her) page.
Tell her I sent you. She is expecting to be visited by people I blog with.

Thanks,
Jim

Breathtaking!!! Thanks for sharing. I am always curious what fall is like in other parts of the country. It's nice to know I could come your way and my fall would be extended. Our leaves have been gone for a few weeks!
