Ha!

I work in a restaurant. It is usually a fun job, and I like and value the relationships I have with my coworkers. It can be tough sometimes when people are rude to you and you have to smile and just do what they want. Zac had a table of four people that sent back their smoothies..what could have been wrong with them? I think it is pretty hard to mess a smoothie up. Some people come in with the attitude that they are going to get stuff for free by complaining, and it is hard to deal with them because they are taking advantage of the restaurant. Of course, if something is wrong, we want to fix it, but don't make other people's lives harder for no reason. So I told Zac (an atheist) that I would pray for them not to complain about anything else. I was hesitant to tell him that because if they kept complaining then I would look foolish. They proceeded to send three other items back, called the manager over, and basically were miserable the whole time. I felt a little silly that I prayed about those people, obviously to no avail, until it started raining. Over their table. Inside. The ceiling started leaking...a lot! They had to get up and move. Luckily, they were almost finished anyway, but it was pretty hilarious, and I have to say I didn't feel bad for them. I gave God the credit, but I don't know if anyone believed me. Zac thought it was pretty awesome, but I guess they could just call it a coincidence. I know better.

LOL :)
(Unfortunately at the expense of some miserable people, for whom circumstances were unable to produce a change in their nature, bc only God in grace can do that).

I worked with an agnostic "tough guy." And one time, I couldn't get the lid on a coffee creamer pot to snap off, to wash it. Well, he laughed at me and said, "Looks like Jesus isn't gonna help you with this one." Immediately the lid popped off, and I rejoiced in triumph. A lot of other things happened over time, but in the end, this man was very humbled through God's power. Don't know if he's saved now, or ever will be. Just know the power of God when He works through circumstances :)

Penn,

Did he really say that to you? I'm so glad we have the Big Guy so involved in every aspect of our lives. He certainly has the best sense of humor! I've had the strangest funny things happen and I know it could have only been God. I love it (and Him!!) BTW, did you see that culty cult member wrote me back? You might be interested to see his arguments.

Howdy! Thanks for dropping by my little blog earlier. I'm glad you enjoyed the post. Drop back by anytime, and if you're ever in Tulsa, by all means visit the class.

If you don't mind my saying so, it seems to me that you might find some reading on apologetics useful. If you're up for a substantial book, the latest edition of Evidence That Demands a Verdict is a good place to start. I believe you will find the answers to most (probably all) of your co-worker's questions in there. There are many other good books on the subject. If you are dealing with anyone involved in a cult, it is hard to beat The Kingdom of the Cults. It is a famous reference work and may well be on the shelves at your local library.

I was in the restaurant (fast-food) business for years. I understand your frustration.

Hey Angela - I waited tables for a number of years at two different times in my life. I actually like a lot of things about it. I enjoy serving people. I tried (with God's help) to remember that it was Christ I was serving. It took the annoyance away (for the most part). :) Whenever I had a difficult table or knew that I wasn't going to get a tip, I just lifted up my service to Him.
